Amina's Memorial Fund for Sele Enat Orphanage
My beautiful, kind, 23 year old daughter, Amina Rose, lost her life to accidental drowning along the Willamette River last week. She was happy, looking forward to moving into first apartment and spent a lot of time with her good friends. Amina joined our family through adoption at the age of 14 and she is an extremely well loved member.
I first met Amina in Ethiopia when she was at the Layla House Orphanage that soon turned into Sele Enat. The staff at Sele Enat was extremely kind and loving to my daughter and helped her through many hard times. Amina and I had hoped to take a trip to Ethiopia to visit all the wonderful people who took care of her but this did not occur before her untimely loss.
In her passing we would like to support the orphanage that took such good care of Amina and that is still caring for many orphaned children. I volunteered at this orphanage and I have personally seen the loving care they provide these children. The pandemic and political strife is hitting them hard. Donations to this gofundme will be sent to Sele Enat Mahiber, as a memorial to Amina, to help feed, clothe, and care for the children they support.
