Amir Awards 2023 Supports Connecticut Children's

Tax deductible
This year, I have started a new tradition aligned with The 2023 Amir Awards - a fundraiser for the Connecticut Children's Hospital. Going forward, this will be the only fundraising initiative associated with my channel. As I don't create content for personal gain, your support for this cause would be the best way to celebrate the event and the content I create. This campaign will start each year when I announce The Amir Awards and remain open until the end of January 2024.

To make this campaign extra fun, for every dollar you donate, you will get one raffle ticket to win the jacket (pictured) that I will wear during this year's show in addition to a handwritten note of gratitude from me. To kick this year off with a bang, there will also be a second prize of my Super Mario Suit from the 2022 Amir Awards, also with a handwritten note.

What are you supporting when you support Connecticut Children's Foundation? In their own words...

1. Clarity of Mission. Necessity of Support.

As the only health system in the state dedicated exclusively to children, Connecticut Children’s has unique needs. The health system has ambitious plans to expand its delivery of care services to more children and families across the region through a close-to-home strategy, as well as provide new and extraordinary care options in Neonatal Medicine and Hematology-Oncology. We have a strong commitment to discovery, and the Research Institute will help drive innovation, so we can provide the finest care to every child who needs it.

2. Changing the Future Through Research

Many are surprised to learn Connecticut Children’s is a hotbed of research. Because pediatric illness and disease are unique from their adult counterparts, it is essential to invest in discovery and innovation. When we understand childhood diseases, we can develop new and more effective treatments. The Research Institute supports Basic & Translational Research; Population Health & Outcomes Research; Clinical Research; and, Core Services, including Clinical Trials.

3. Meeting Greatest Needs

The most practical and powerful support you can give is to the Greatest Need Children’s Fund. This allows us to meet the immediate medical, emotional and social health care needs of our patients and their families. During a crisis like a pandemic, it allows Connecticut Children’s to purchase PPE and set up COVID-19 drive-through testing. It provides for everything from art therapy used by Child Life Specialists to specialized equipment, like nine different sizes of tiny blood pressure cuffs used in the NICU. The Greatest Need Children’s Fund does it all.

4. Fetal Care Program

The Fetal Care Center at Connecticut Children's, led by Timothy M. Crombleholme, MD, a world-renowned fetal surgeon with more than 35 years experience, offers specialized care teams who provide a multidisciplinary approach to caring for moms and their babies.
