Amir Nikravan and Mikey O'Connell recover from Eaton Fire
Donation protected
We're heartbroken to share that artist Amir Nikravan and journalist Mikey O'Connell's apartment was consumed in Altadena's Eaton Fire.
As friends of Mikey and Amir's, we have been helped and supported countless times by them in life and in work. Consummate hosts, they regularly opened their beautiful home to family, friends and colleagues alike, often even hosting gatherings in our names. The devastation is magnified by the loss of Amir's family home of 32 years, just blocks away from their apartment. Beyond the lifetime's worth of work and possessions, it's the loving spaces these homes held that are being grieved by all who know them.
We've set up this campaign to help Amir and Mikey — who were uninsured— regain some semblance of security as they re-imagine their future.
One other way to support Mikey and Amir is through Amir's work. Three days before the fire, we had gathered to celebrate the opening of Amir's stunning show with Tyler Park Presents. Regardless of the fires, we encourage you to see the show and, if you're able, buy work. In fact, Amir and Mikey's home held too a growing collection of friends' artworks, acquired through trades and purchases, another way they supported their colleagues.
We ask for your help in supporting Amir and Mikey, who have enriched our lives in immeasurable ways, as they recover from this tragedy.
