Amir Yunas - Journey to Full Recovery

The Family of Amir Yunas has created this fundraiser.

Amir Yunas, beloved husband, father, son and friend, was in a horrible accident on Tuesday, July 19th. An experienced cyclist, he had just purchased a new bicycle and planned to ride it home. Moments after beginning his journey, he was struck head-on by a car. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, along with multiple fractures and lacerations. His brain experienced internal hemorrhaging and swelling. During his ICU stay, he had surgery to repair his broken clavicle. His recovery is now a waiting game, with doctors unable to say when he will fully regain consciousness. Amir continues to fight as hard as possible, and his family remains hopeful.

Those who know and love Amir would describe him as a highly dedicated and driven person - enthusiastic, active and always eager to learn. His thirst for knowledge led him to live overseas with his family to study Islam and Arabic. He has enjoyed skiing trips with his parents and spending time learning and discussing with his wife. His elder son loves to talk about Star Wars and learned coding from Amir. His younger son obesses over his dad and misses bike rides and swimming with him. The fact that this accident occurred while Amir was doing something he loved is excruciating for his family.

We know the medical bills will be significant, as will the treatments, physical therapy and out-of-pocket expenses. This fundraiser has been created to raise funds for those bills and expenses. Amir had just begun a new job one week before his accident. We want to support him and his family financially and emotionally to make this journey easier for them.
