Amira’s open heart surgery

Hi, our names are Amanda and Mohammad and we are fundraising for our 19 month old daughter’s upcoming open heart surgery. Amira was recently diagnosed with a congenital heart defect called Coarctation of the Aorta that needs to be surgically repaired. While there is no good time for any parent to receive this kind of news, ours came only 6 weeks after Amira’s grandfather (Amanda’s father) lost his battle with Melanoma. As a family, we had to take time off of work that went unpaid to care for Amira’s grandfather, not knowing then of her condition. Now our family will undoubtedly be put through more financial strain as we must care for our little Amira. So we humbly ask for help to ease our burden. We will use funds that are raised to help with medical bills, meals, transportation and loss of wages during her recovery.
