Give a second chance to children from Brazil´s favelas!
We, a group of volunteers, are currently doing a project in the Brasilian NGO "Amor e Vida."

"Associação Amor e Vida" is a non-governmental institution and solely funded by donations. It is located in Cariacica, a small suburb of Vitoria, the capital of the brasilian district Espirito Santo. The city suffers from inequalities, resulting in a city with a rich core but poor suburbs.
The children living here are facing the consequences of the poverty:
absent parents, due to no income, parents that are involved in drug traffic or are drug consumers themselves.
In addition to the difficult or non-existing family life, the children do not receive quality education in the public schools. They suffer from lack of affection, ambition and valuation.
\Thus, every day before or after school, around 100 children aged from 6 to 14 years come to "Amor e Vida" to play and to learn in a safe environment.
"Amor e Vida" intends to deliver a complementary and modern education, in order to give these disadvantaged children a second chance.
Therefore, the association employs professional and qualified educators that work with the children. They aim to complete the traditional education, by providing artistic, sporty, educational and fun activities, such as Capoeira, theaters or discussion rounds.
However, the association does not have the money to pay a salary to the educators. So, they currently work on a voluntary basis.
And this is, why we ask for your support: At the moment, the educators have other jobs to afford their living and do not have time to open the association and to work with the kids.
Therefore, we would kindly ask you for a donation that will be used to pay a salary to the eduactors. This ensures that the association remains open and the educators can continue working with the kids.
If the association does not receive money within the next month, it will be closed, because the employees cannot be paid.
