SkyDive for Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Violence

Hi, I am Syl (she/her), a counsellor and liberation practitioner at Kinergy and in private practice. I am jumping out of a plane (I am really doing it? Yes, I am...even though I am terrified...) again... (I know, right? Why!? I do not like sports, to be honest, but this is important) to raise money for sexual abuse and violence survivors.

As some of you know, 18 years ago, for a short period of time, I was a victim of domestic abuse. Even though I liberated myself fast and many of you were there to help, too, women's charity was critical to helping me and my child at the time. It took a while to heal, which I owe to my lovely family (precious child and kind, supportive husband), friends and wonderful colleagues.

Six years ago, I decided to give back and train as a therapist. Today, I am proud and so lucky to be one of the helpers at Kinergy charity supporting other survivors. I can vouch that the Kinergy team are good people. We still live in a violent world, but many of us work hard to change that, and change IS possible, so this work really matters.

They say 15,000ft is when we run out of air - that is exactly how it feels to live in abuse, so I am going to jump that distance for Kinergy this summer.
