Help SASN Support People in SK Access Abortions
Saskatoon Abortion Support Network is a pro-choice organization dedicated to supporting people before, during and after abortion. SASN provides individually tailored support to overcome the barriers that a person may experience, understanding that the barriers are unique to each pregnant person. SASN provides these services free of charge to promote equitable access to abortion. Our services include:
- In-person support: driving people to and from appointments, staying with people at the hospital during surgical abortions, going to the pharmacy with people to get their prescriptions for medical abortions
- Talk and text support: support before or after abortions for people to talk about their experiences and feelings, answering questions about what to expect or how to get an abortion, and helping people connect to local resources
- Practical support: helping people overcome other barriers to abortion care such as travel, a place to stay, childcare, financial costs, etc.
As a small, grassroots organization, we rely on donations from our local communities to help us provide these services to pregnant people in and around Saskatoon. In Saskatchewan, people can only access abortions in Saskatoon and Regina - meaning that many people have to travel from out-of-town. Your money will go towards helping us provide our services to people in and around Saskatoon: renting hotel rooms for people from out-of-town, driving people to and from appointments (especially to and from Regina), and helping cover costs such as food and gas that make abortion difficult to access for people in Saskatchewan.
