Amy and her sweet family

Donation protected
Our friend, family, co-worker, caretaker, Amy NEEDS your help! She is not one to ask for help. She is always the one giving. It's time we show our friend, she has all of our love and support through these next big hurdles in her life. Unfortunately, Amy found a lump in her breast about 2 weeks ago. She followed up with her OBGYN and had a mammogram done 3 days later. Little did she know, this small lump, turned out to be BIG news. They did a biopsy and the pathology came back as Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma aka Breast Cancer. They did find that the tumor was larger than they thought and that it had already traveled to her local lymph nodes. This prompted further testing.
She then had multiple scans/tests completed which included PET scans, MRIs, Bone Scans, biopsies etc. The bad news, worsened. They found the cancer was in her liver, ovaries, breast tissue, and surrounding lymph. This made her diagnosis: Stage 4 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Treatment for this is even more extensive than the original plan.
Though, it has been a terrifying 2 weeks for our friend and her family, she remains optimistic and full of hope and fight. She will soon begin oral meds, undergo multiple surgeries(breast, lymph, partial hysterectomy, and liver), she will have a port placed and receive chemo soon. Following, she will have radiation. She will have nothing short of a tough road with many obstacles ahead but her physicians are optimistic about her treatment course.
With that being said, Amy has been working as an ER nurse for years, taking care of others. When Covid worsened, our community needed nurses in hospitals that were short staffed to accommodate for the influx in patients. Amy took it upon herself to become an independent contractor for these hospitals and worked 50+ hours weekly. Though, she still works PRN through her original employer to help, she lost all benefits that came with the job.
Amy is also married to another, selfless servant, a firefighter named John. He works 48 hours shifts while helping maintain their family life. They have two beautiful kiddos, Gabby(7) and Logan(12). Thankfully, John's fire family will help with arranging schedules as necessary so he can continue to support his wife.
I am putting together this fundraiser in hopes of raising money to help with the offset of her decrease in hours, John taking needed time from work, help with medical bills, monthly living expenses, childcare, groceries, and transportation to and from medical appointments. Let's reach out to our family in their time of need and help ease the emotional and financial burden as much as possible. Any little bit helps! If you are unable to donate and would like to share your support regardless, please share the go fund me page and feel free to leave a message for the family below. All prayers welcomed! Thank you so much for taking the time to read Amy's story.
