In October, 2022, Amy was diagnosed with a brain tumor which led to a year-long fight against cancer. Through surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and the effects of seizures, Amy was grateful for every additional day with her family. Despite the loss of her physical abilities, her determination was unfailing. She would greet each day with a smile and gratitude to continue her battle against this disease. She fought the hardest fight of her life for each additional day with those she loved. Amy and her family express their gratitude for the many healthcare providers who helped her along the way. The neurological floor at IMC, Encompass Health and Rehabilitation, and Intermountain Hospice.
Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully on October 28th, 2023, surrounded by her family in her Salt Lake City home.
Amy was born on July 10th, 1975 to Mark and Shari Fisher in West Valley, Utah. She attended Granger High School and graduated in 1993. During highschool, Amy participated in theater and loved being part of several stage productions. She worked for Morris Air and later Southwest Airlines. She met Chad Anderson on a blind date in February 1994 and they soon began dating. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 10th, 1996. She worked at Draper Bank & Trust, Zions Bank, and most recently at Cooke, Martin, Poulson Accountants.
Her greatest passion was her family and creating a home where everyone was welcome. Amy developed a passion for cooking, she loved to treat her friends and family with amazing desserts. She loved adventures and planning family trips, from camping and outings at the lake, to trips to the beach, she loved spending time with her family. Amy was aware that each day is a gift. She lovingly preserved the memories of her time with family and friends by scrapbooking these moments for herself and others to look back on and enjoy. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Amy had a passion for quilting, always creating new patterns and searching for unique fabrics she created many works of art. Amy always strived to help and serve others. She held church callings in Primary, Young Women and Relief Society, but her greatest joy was serving the children. If there was a baby in the room, Amy would be holding it. Her most recent calling was in the nursery and she commented frequently that this was her favorite calling.
Those who knew Amy, knew of her love and acceptance of everyone she met. She was the friend that would be there to listen, and lend a helping hand. She loved music and was quick to dance no matter where or what she was doing. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know her, knew of the light she would bring with her wherever she went.
Amy’s legacy of love lives on through her survivors, her children: Madison, Olivia, and William Anderson, her husband Chad Anderson, her mother Shari Fisher, her brothers Ryan Crosby and Levi Fisher, brothers and sisters in law, mother in law, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Mark Fisher, her father in law Ennis Anderson, and her grandparents.
