The Update We Never Wanted (11/3/23)

Our dear, sweet Amy Marie Cooney passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3rd with her devoted husband and family by her side. We would like to thank each person that prayed, donated and supported the family over the past two years as she fought so hard to be that miracle and beat this awful disease. Your contributions allowed Amy to seek treatments and kept the family together when she received those away from her home.

As her husband put it so well, "Amy was everything that is good in this world. Kind, patient, loving, caring, funny, optimistic, hard working and beautiful, both inside and out. Her love and warmth were felt by even those who only knew her for a short time." Up until her final breaths, Amy remained thankful to her doctors and nurses for helping her, loving and welcoming to her family and friends each time she had the opportunity to speak with them, blessed by all of the supporters throughout her life and this journey. If we could all just live a little more like Amy; the world will be a far better place.

Amy blessed so many in her life and all she ever asked for in this journey was for her husband and daughters to be taken care of. They were her purpose, her joy and her greatest achievements. She was the best Mom, wife, daughter, sister and friend.

Please join us in continuing to support Chris, Lyla, Mollie, her Mother Cheryl, her Father Pete and her sister Sarah as they are left to live a life that continues to honor Amy and who she was to all of them and to all of us.

Help support through prayer, kind words and shared stories of memories, words of encouragement and financial donations. This GoFundMe will now go towards funeral costs, remaining medical bills and to support Chris and the girls as they navigate their new life without their most important piece.

We love you Amy and thank you for being such an incredible blessing to each of us and to this world. Dance everyday in Heaven - we will see you again friend.

Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,

We are reaching out to you today on behalf of our beloved Amy Cooney, a devoted wife, loving mother, and compassionate nurse who has recently been faced with an unimaginable challenge. In November 2021, Amy was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and since then, she has been battling this formidable disease with unwavering strength and determination. As her journey continues, we are seeking your support to help Amy explore trial options, cover medical expenses, and ensure that her family remains together and financially secure during this challenging time.

Amy Cooney is a remarkable woman who has touched the lives of countless individuals as a caring nurse and devoted friend. For almost 13 years, she has shared a beautiful life with her loving husband, Chris who is an Air Force Veteran and current Law Enforcement Officer. They have been blessed with two wonderful daughters, Lyla (11) and Mollie (9). As a couple, Amy and Chris share an admirable Christ-centered marriage full of love, joy and support. It is nothing short of a fairytale. As a mother, Amy's love knows no bounds, and her dedication to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for her daughters is truly inspiring.

Despite her courageous battle, the conventional chemotherapy treatments that Amy has undergone are no longer effective in controlling her cancer's progression. The situation has led Amy and her medical team to explore alternative trial options, which come with substantial costs and expenses. As she seeks a path to healing and recovery, Amy's family faces not only the emotional strain but also the financial burden of medical bills, travel expenses, and the need to stay together during treatments. Unfortunately, Amy no longer qualifies for disability and is receiving no income so we would love to help support the Cooney Family during this time.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Cooney Family Support Team
