Amy Durkee's Lupus Fight

You're supposed to have 150,000 to 400,000 platelets. Amy has 26,000.   She told us today that 10,000 is fatal. Amy has been battling Discoid Lupus for 20 years now. Then in August she got stomach ulcers and there were no platelets to stop the bleeding.  She found out that she now has Systemic Lupus.  She makes it day by day, working with extreme exhaustion. Today at brunch she told us that she had to have the death talk with her girls.  This was devastating to hear from my friend.  She then told us that its critical that her platelets go up in the next 30 days.  Amy has had platelets transplanted but again the lupus ate them.  We need a cure NOW.   Help my friend as she struggles with this disease, while raising two beautful girls.  The medical expenses are piling up. Amy is the most caring, sweet, wonderful mother and friend anyone could ask for.
