Support Amy's Fight

Donation protected
My name is Jeni Miri, Amy Hernandez is one of my closest friends. Amy was diagnosed with colon cancer on October 25, 2023 and the past 8 weeks have been extremely challenging and emotional, as I'm sure you can all imagine. She went in for a routine colonoscopy thinking they'd end the appointment with "see you in 10 years." Instead, she was told they found a tumor and that it was cancer. Please feel free to read more about Amy's experience over the past several weeks on Caringbridge if you haven't already: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/amysjourney8
So far Amy has been through such a difficult journey between her diagnosis of cancer, a blood clot that led to an overnight stay at the hospital, chemotherapy, twice a day injections, numerous invasive procedures, lots of tears, and a new chemo that was recently added which will likely have additional side effects, such as losing her hair. Through all of this Amy has remained amazingly strong, hopeful, and confident that she'll beat this and is already eager to help others that are affected by cancer in the future. Those of you that are part of Amy’s life know she's a GIVER. Always wanting to help others who are struggling, setting up fundraisers for those that need support, and showering friends/acquaintances with love and support when they're going through a difficult time. Now it's time for us to give back to Amy. So many of you already have, and Amy and Jake are extremely grateful...thank you!!! Friends often ask me how else they can help. Amy and Jake were initially reluctant to allow me to create a gofundme page, but with SO many people asking how they can support Amy, along with the extremely high medical bills they've already received, I felt it was appropriate. Many of the friends who have checked in with me about Amy have told me how much they adore her and that she’s the person that’s always helping others. She’s truly an amazing woman, mom, wife, and friend. While Amy is focusing on her health and recovery the last thing she should be concerned about is all the extra costs involved with treatment. The money raised here will go towards those medical bills. Amy has described this as a spiritual, emotional, psychological, physical, and very personal journey and has been amazed at all the people who have shown up for her in different ways. Thank you for all the love and support you've already given to the Hernandez family, it means the world to them.
