Amy Jo Althoff Breast Cancer Fund
Donation protected
My sister my very best friend. The strongest person that I know. I'm not sure how to begin something like this and I have no idea what I am doing but I guess you have to start somewhere. So here it goes..my big sister Amy Jo Althoff has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Stage 3 Invasive ductal carcinoma with metastasis to lymph nodes. Only at the age of 35. Amy found the lump in her right breast over a month ago. She went to her primary care doctor and got a referral to get a mammogram and ultrasound done. The radiologist who read those tests told her that she had two masses that were very suspicious of being malignant. After that Amy was then told to get the breast biopsy completed and sure enough it was the pathology report that none of us wanted to hear... cancer..
She then did the MRI and it was found that the lymph nodes were also involved and were also biopsied and also malignant. So now here we are....Getting ready for her to get a PET scan to see where else it has spread in her body if any. An echocardiogram to see if her heart is healthy and can tolerate the chemo because it is so aggressive it can effect her heart...as well as her port placement to start 20 weeks of chemotherapy before her double mastectomy and then 6 weeks of radiation. (Sorry for the info overload..just wanted you to all know the whole picture)
To say that she and all of the rest of us loved ones are completely devastated and truly overwhelmed is an understatement
We met with one of the greatest cancer teams in the state today and Amy is facing a tremendous journey and very aggressive treatment plan for the next 8 months to maybe even a year. With all that being said she will still try to continue to work as much as she possibly can for as long as she can during her battle.
Amy is a single mother struggling on her own and raising her sweet girl Emma Grace and these next steps are going to be extremely financially difficult for them both. I wanted to set up this fund for them to be able to survive this long and gruling process that she has been faced with. Amy is the most caring and compassionate person and truly does have a good heart... she is strong and is so brave fighting for her life. Some of you may already know that she has battled with addiction in the past and SHE surrendered and asked for help and beat it..she did that on her own. She wanted to overcome that and so much more.. so i know that she can beat this as well..the strength Amy Jo has is something I have never seen in anyone else ever before. I tell her all the time that she is SOMEBODY in this world and she is special and important. She deserves a good life and peace and happiness. And i do believe that one day she will have ALL of that. This will all be behind her one day and I am standing right by her side all of the way through this awful time in her life and i encourage anyone who would like to help in any way possible to as well.. To overcome what she has is a work of God and I know that he is with her now and this is all part of His plan for her..
So if you all would like to help out in anyway possible there are so many ways..she and all of us would deeply appreciate it so much ❤ so please reach out to love and support Amy Jo in anyway you can. We are so thankful for you all.
First would be to donate to this go fund me account and show your love and support to Amy Jo and helping her survive this time in treatment. We are hopeful that she will be able to work some but won't know how the chemo will effect her. We do know that she will be missing alot work for appointments, procedures, and treatments/ surgery recovery time. So our financial goal is set high.
Next is to pray to God for her and lift her up in anyway... give any kind of thoughts or love you want. Let's all wrap her up and be there for her. She is very alone in this and needs company and support.
Please share this page even if you cannot donate. The more people this will reach the more hopes that Amy can beat this! Please do whatever you can to show her how much she really does mean to us all.
Any other ideas or actions are also very much welcome. I know that Amy will appreciate it all so much whatever it may be.
