Amy sings in Austria: AIMS Opera program
Donation protected
I have been invited to be a part of the AIMS (The American Institute of Musical Studies) in Austria this year. I am looking to raise $7000 to cover the tuition expense, due by May 15. Additional expenses will be airfare, transportation, application fees, music purchases, textbook fees, meals, and incidental: estimated at $3000. Please help me reach this lofty goal!
You can donate directly to my AIMS account here: http://aimsgraz.com/pay-inline.html
Donating Alternative~ If you would rather write a check you can send a check to:
AIMS Administration Office
Sarah Halley, Administrative Director
28 East 69th Street
Kansas City, MO 64113
(please make sure to include my name on the check)
Checks sent directly to AIMS are tax-deductible (excluding immediate family) and all money sent to AIMS with MY NAME in the memo-line for the donation will be given directly to me to cover tuition first, then transportation, and finally for things that will be needed in Austria. The payment for AIMS fees is due by May 15th but AIMS can accept donations up until July 20th.
According the the website, "AIMS, the leading summer vocal program and the most comprehensive course of its kind, brings future opera and concert performers together with an eminent faculty in a one-of-a-kind experience. Dedicated to bridging the gap between musical training and a career in music, AIMS concentrates on individual technical development and a professional approach to a musical career. The focus is on the serious musician aspiring to a career in music. Many young artists who participated in AIMS have become celebrated performers on the world´s stages."
I will prepare by completing the Rosetta Stone German courses. I hope to qualify for the second level language courses. Additionally, I will be learning the selected music prior to the auditions in Graz for the concerts listed. The courses include:
*Individual Voice Lessons (with Voice Laboratory)
*Aria Coaching (with Laboratory)
*Daily Conversational German for Musicians
*Stage Artistry Classes
*German Diction and Diction Laboratory
*Italian, French, Russian and English diction
*Poetry of the German Lied (art song)
*Audition Training Seminar
*Weekly Special Events
*Master Classes
*Distant Voices - listening to famous singers of the past.

About Me: I am a 25 year old, lyric coloratura soprano. I completed my Masters of Arts in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in the spring of 2013. I wanted to have a solid career option in my pocket as alternative to music. I have been studying the art of singing for 10 years, and moved from Dallas Texas when I was 18 to study voice with Cornelius Reid in New York City. That was a great learning curve! I currently study with Ellen Shade. I married the charming Joseph Barber in the summer of 2012 and he is extremely supportive of my dreams.
