Amy may is 5 years old she was diagnosed with a brain tumour in early January this year and since then she has been in hospital now for 19 weeks she has had to have 9 operations a vp shunt and a peg feeding tube before surgery amy was a normal 5 year old little girl but after surgery she come back a completely different child she now isn’t able to walk or speak or swallow one of her eyes has dropped so is waiting for surgery on this.
amy is currently having neuro rehab to try bring some normality back to her life. Amy has now got a wheelchair a special
car seat and a special buggy to support her head, hoists, a stair climber and a special bath seat also she has a hospital bed made for her to have at home these items she needed has been provided from nhs services but mum and dad need to buy a special raincover and a sunhood which they don’t provide also they are only offering rehab once a week when she comes home so the family have to pay for more therapy sessions to try and help her walk and talk again
also Amy loves the garden but is unable to access it without a ramp into the garden and one need outside the family home and also the family will need a drop curb outside their house.l
this has been a life changing experience and a traumatic stressful worrying time for all of the family including Amy’s 6 other siblings the family would like to have a day out and possibly a little holiday together so if you could help my niece in anyway we would be very grateful
We just want Amy to try and go back to a normal
life and get the best out of her life do things why we can make more and more progress with her thank you
