Amy, Paco & Fam for Hurricane Eta Relief on Boat

Donation protected

Last Thursday, Oct 30th, Hurricane Eta — when it was a catastrophically damaging Category 4 hurricane — ripped through the state of Tabasco in Mexico, leaving many thousands stranded, after they instantly lost all of their belongings to the ~100+ mph waters that rushed through in a matter of 4 hours. The nearby canals and water sources in these towns overflowed into the neighborhoods, and residents are still dealing with the continuous heavy flooding that followed; this is an active disaster, as waters are still rising today. The situation is still dire, and government assistance is not enough for the dense populations.

Because the hurricane had caused local sea levels to stay dramatically risen, continual flooding is also causing continual damage.

Your friend, Amy Hua, is in Tabasco, Mexico right now, assisting her partner Francisco Zurita and the Zurita family in putting together + directly transporting supplies through our personal car and borrowed boat to supply essential toiletries, clothing, and food to currently stranded families in need.

We are serving the stranded residents and families in high waters living in Macuspana, Tabasco, a major city highly impacted by the Cat 4 hurricane, where infrastructure and supply chains to basic essentials have been disrupted.

Government sponsored assistance is NOT AT ALL reaching enough people in the hurricane Eta destruction zone. So we have decided to help them ourselves.

But we need to keep this awesome effort going!!

We are organizing supply drives to the area almost every day, and we will continue to until we are exhausted (so please consider donating to replenish our efforts!).

There are still many more people in need than there is available assistance, and while we have put together donations from the local area via solicitations on Facebook, we know we could help more.

This is a very organized effort. We are sorting supplies by resident type — female adults, male adults, children, and infants — so that we can deliver what they actually need...

By hand, to the exact people who need them.

There is still much to be done to meet the levelof need we see

Every dollar you donate via this campaign goes 100% DIRECTLY to this dedicated, organized, active family of Francisco’s, who is actively packing and preparing essentials, and transporting them directly to those in need on the frontline.

100% of the donations will be converted to pesos, and given to the Zurita family so they can keep doing their amazing work!

They will keep helping those in needs as long as they can, so please consider chipping in. Even a donation of $1 USD is equivalent to a roll of toilet paper that someone doesn’t have right now.

And this is Amy you’re talking about, so don’t worry about being scammed into some “adminfee” (beyond the 3% fee that GoFundMe asks for...). Speaking of which, my Venmo handler @amyhua also works and would be fee-free, too! :)

I’ll be 100% transparent and make updates via my GoPro, and my iPhone camera as I can. I will be in Tabasco through Sunday, so please consider donating before the weekend, if you can! The need is present, real, and right here. Thank you so much, fam. Peace and love, and hooray for doing the right thing.
