Helping Amy Through The Holidays

Amy Hensley was the AMA Museum’s final director, and she accomplished so much in under 3 years. She ran the daily business of the museum, was critical to the success of 3 alumni reunions, and spearheaded new efforts to raise awareness of the museum throughout Augusta County and beyond. She managed 5 public festivals, brought live music and classic cars to campus, promoted our annual speaker series, and organized charity drives for Clymore Elementary and Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. She was relentless in pursuing new opportunities to promote the AMA Museum as a historical site, educational resource, and community partner. As a result, the public twice voted AMA the valley’s Best Museum in the Harrisonburg Radio Group’s Shenandoah Valley Best poll. She was an outstanding asset to this museum.
Now, Amy deserves our support in a difficult time. The foundation board has eliminated her position. Amy is in transition, and her severance only covers the month of November. Amy's tenacity will surely land her a job worthy of her skill and experience, but this interim period is always uncertain. That’s why, in thanks for all that Amy did for AMA, I'm asking you to join me in helping with her living expenses for December. The goal is $2,475 dollars by December 20.
Let your contribution give Amy some peace of mind during the holidays. For all her loyalty and excellence for AMA, she's earned it.
