Amy's Medical & Rehabilitation Fund
On Sunday, July 31st, my good friend Amy and her family were involved in a terrible car accident. Amy's wife, Misty, and their two-year-old son, Emerson, are going to be ok, but Amy was seriously injured and had to be airlifted out.
While her life is not in danger, she cannot walk, and will be in ongoing medical treatment and rehabilitation for the coming months to heal and then learn how to walk again. Misty is the primary breadwinner and Amy's job has been to support her wife and care for their young son. Due to the accident, she is at a very limited capacity, and will need ongoing care not only for her son but also for herself, as well as rehabilitation.
We can never know when something like this will happen. We can only hope that those around us will pull together and offer love, support, and strength during difficult times. I know that Amy, Misty, and Emerson are just starting to experience the outpour of love that we have for them. Many of us are too far away to offer physical assistance -- to babysit Emerson, to make a meal, to run errands, to do housekeeping or to just BE there with Amy -- but we can help in this way and make a contribution to Amy's healing.
Amy is strong; while I know the coming months will be difficult, I have no doubt that she will conquer these challenges. I am asking for her friends, family, loved ones and even kind-hearted strangers to come together and offer support at this time. The medical expenses, the in-home care and rehabilitation expenses will soon be adding up. Please donate what you can to help Amy, Misty, and Emerson get through this difficult time.
Please pass along the link to this campaign to your friends and family on Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, any platform you use).
Thank you all for your kindness, strength, prayers, and generosity.
