Claire and Brody's Support Fund

This is my first time creating a Go Fund me page and I am doing so for my very good friend Claire Paterson. When I brought up the idea to her she said, "There are so many people out there suffering from so many other injustices, I don't think I am worthy." I assured her that every need is worthy, including hers, and that many people may want to help her through this extremely hard time, and this is a way they can. Please read her story and if you are able to support her and her son, Brody (who turns 2 years old in May), by donating to this fund, even in the smallest way, please know that your support means more than financial security for a while so they may grieve, it will also reinforce the fact that she is loved and supported and is never alone.
On March 12th 2016, Claire tragically lost the love of her life, best friend and wife, Liesle Young. Liesle was very accomplished and a wonderful human being, she helped so many people as a Psychologist and she loved Claire and their son, Brody, infinitely. In Claire's word's, "Recently, she was hospitalized as she was suffering from severe anxiety and depression and was trying everything prescribed but nothing worked for her. Unfortunately, she could no longer fight and lost the battle, taking her life."
The loss has been devastating and life changing for Claire and Brody. Beyond the pain and suffering of losing Liesle, whom Claire adored, is the fact that Claire is now a single parent and is emotionally and logistically unable to currently work to support them both. Claire is a professional soccer coach and working with teams is something she loves to do, but it will take time before she can do so again.
In the coming months and years, there are many things to figure out for Claire and Brody and my hope is that if we can raise some money for them, then we can help relieve some of the over whelming stress that surrounds them so that Claire can be with Brody and in time get back on her feet.
I know that Claire will have hard time accepting the generosity of others, because she is the one who would always be the first to help someone else in need and never want something in return. However, I also know that she will be grateful beyond words and that your kindness will never be forgotten.
