Amy's Army - Amy Sanford Lymphoma Fundraiser

Donation protected
My name is Amanda Ferguson. My cousin Amy Sanford has been recently diagnosed with cancer. Our family is praying in agreement that God will intervene on her behalf and heal her completely. We have started this Go Fund Me page to help raise funds to help with the ongoing medical expenses for her treatment. All donations will go directly to Amy and her family to help cover their medical, travel and day-to-day living expenses during this time so they can focus on her health. Below is the timeline from her Facebook page.

May 5th: I got my test results back this morning and it’s not what I wanted to hear. I’ll find out so much more after meeting with Oncology, but what I do know as of now is I have Small B Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma with traces of Large B Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Oncology will do their own testing and biopsies to see how far progressed it is and if it’s in other places. I’m going to beat this….there is no other option!! Please continue to lift me up in prayer, but please lift Chris and the kids in prayer as well. Thank you all so much!!

May 12th: I got an appointment with the Cancer Center at UAB!! I’m so excited about this!! It had gotten to where every time UAB was mentioned, I would feel a little pressure in my chest…not a bad feeling, just a feeling. I felt like I was supposed to see them. I’m not sure yet what each Dr will tell me about the course of treatment, but I’m thankful that doors have opened in Tupelo and Birmingham!! Please help me pray that Jesus will lead me exactly to where I’m supposed to be!! I will see Dr. Mayur Narkhede at UAB on 5/19!! ❤️

May 19th: Ok, I’m going to try my best to make all of this information make sense. Bare with me
I have 2 different types of Lymphoma and they have combined with each other and that’s very rare. The types aren’t rare, the fact that they’ve tagged teamed me is rare. The first type is Diffuse Large B Cell lymphoma. It is very aggressive but it also has a 60% survival rate. With my age, he’s upped my survival rate to 70%. Older people are more prone to this type. This type is curable. Curable means that in 5 years I have a 70% chance of no longer having this anywhere in my body.
The second type is Follicular Lymphoma. It is treatable and can go into remission, but it will never leave my body. This is something I will be checked for until I go to Glory….BUT Jesus CAN remove it and that I know for a fact!!
I know that I will have my first chemo treatment either May 31 or June 1. I’m waiting for them to let me know the exact date but in between now and then I will have an echocardiogram to check my heart, I will have a port put into my chest for treatments and I will have to get a PET scan to see where any lymphomas are in other places of my body. Depending on what the PET scan finds will determine if I have 4 chemo treatments or 6. Those will be given every 3 weeks. The first treatment will be the longest because they have to do it slower to make sure I don’t have any reactions.
I will be receiving calls from the nurses letting me know what day next week to return for at least my echo and port placement. The dr wants to start my chemo even if I haven’t received my PET scan yet, but that will be done asap also. I loved Dr. Narkhede and everyone else that helped today. I’m so thankful I chose UAB!! Now just to get everything started….❤️
I want you all to know that your prayers and the love you’re sending is felt beyond measure!! I appreciate them all more than you’ll ever know!! I have an army behind me and I know Jesus is going to give not only myself but my family and friends an unbelievable testimony!! We’ve got this!! I’m going to rock this bump in the road like nobody ever has before!!
Love you all!!! ❤️

May 24th: I wanted to update everyone!! As of now I will have an echo on my heart on June 1st, my first round of chemo on June 2nd and my pet scan and port placement on June 3rd. It’s going to be a hectic few days, but I’m ready!! Also, I have found more knots in other places of my body other than my neck and shoulder. They are now below my diaphragm too. I knew to expect that, but I had such hope that they would all stay in one place. This means I will have more chemo treatments and possibly be in a further stage, such as 3 or 4. I took a day to be sad, but I’m back in the right frame of mind again.
I also wanted to share this song with y’all (Katy Nichole, In Jesus Name). My baby girl, Payton sent it to me last night. She said she listens to it, and it helps her through, and I hope you can apply the words of this song to anything you may be dealing with. It’s absolutely beautiful…please listen ❤️ thank you all again for your prayers!!
