Amy's bottom surgery.

Hello, my name is Amy and I'm fundraising to help pay for bottom surgery. I am a transgender woman and I am seeking to receive bottom surgery in order to alleviate physical pain and gender dysphoria. I started my transition journey 8 years ago. Much of my life has been hindered by pain and discomfort I receive from vericoceles and vericose veins near my testicle which make it hard to live an active life. The problem started when I was a teenager when I also suffered a torsion of one of my testicles and doctors couldn't do much to help me at the time. Recent visits to the doctor haven't been much more helpful as their only recommendation is to undergo an orchiectomy and unfortunately for my situation, if I want to ever get a vaginoplasty to complete my transition, I would have to get both operations done at the same time. Funds will be used to pay for all associated expenses required for bottom surgery which typically run between $15,000 and $30,000. Additional costs include laser hair removal, therapy costs, transportation, medications, doctor visits, etc. I am going to be working with the University of Michigan for my surgery and am hoping that my insurance will help cover some of the costs, but I am waiting to hear back about that. My goal is to get this done within 1-2 years from now, the sooner the better.
