Help me bring MELT to Baltimore!

I am helping people get out of pain.
My name is Amy Taliaferro, and I am raising money to pay for a course of study in the MELT™ Method.
For 22 years, I have been a bodyworker, providing people with massage, craniosacral therapy, Somatic Experiencing Trauma work, and teaching a sensory based movement technique called Nia. I love my work; as a caregiver and teacher, I help others reconnect to their bodies; the exploration is endless, joyful, and fascinating.
MELT is a technique that rebalances the nervous system and rehydrates our connective tissue, otherwise known as fascia. Fascia is a fluid, flexible matrix that wraps and protects us from our head to our toes, supporting and protecting our organs, joints, and muscles. It acts as an information superhighway, linking our brain and central nervous system to our structure.
MELT uses small balls of different sizes and densities, and soft rollers, to rehydrate the fascia, rebalance our nervous system, and release stuck stress in the tissue. Gentle, slow movements bring length, flexibility and improved fluid exchange to our tissues.
The results are a reduction in pain; improved flexibility, alignment and posture; increased joint mobility, and overall wellbeing.
It is available to almost Every Body... post surgery, in chronic pain, pregnant, people with joint replacements, bone disorders, arthritis, postural issues, as well as athletes, yogis, dancers and musicians looking to stay in peak shape for their craft... and the list goes on.
Last December, I went to Chicago to take the first level of study of the MELT Method™, the Hand and Foot Training.
I was blown away by all that I learned!
I came home and began teaching small group classes in the Hand and Foot techniques, and students reported that they noticed results immediately. Symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet, and bunion pain were reduced. Balance improved for those who had hip and knee replacements. People described feeling more connected throughout their whole body, less stressed, clearer in their heads, and general pain decreased. I have been able to treat my own symptoms of plantar fascitis with the help of MELT.
Given these great results, I want to take my skills to the next level, so I can bring MELT to more people who can benefit from it. I have been working on my own with the soft roller and have learned some of the basic techniques, and the results are profound, creating lasting pain relief, increased flexibility, greater capacity for breath, and deeper relaxation.
I want to bring MELT to groups of people dealing with the physical effects of Parkinson's, stroke patients, and other populations for whom flexibility, balance, and movement has become limited. I envision bringing MELT in as an adjunct to rehabilitation in hospitals and rehab centers.
The next level of training begins in July, with two months of in depth home study, followed by six classroom days in New York City with the founder of the MELT Method, Sue Hitzmann. This course will train me to safely and effectively teach techniques with a soft roller. It will provide me with the skills I need to work with students and clients in group and private sessions.
I need to raise $4200 to cover the cost of the training and teaching supplies, so I can begin providing classes as soon as I return. Home study begins in early July.
Your generous donation will come with an opportunity to MELT with me, if you would like! Here are the options available.
With a $50 donation, you have a free pass to a one hour small group MELT class when I finish the training.
With a $100 donation, you can recieve a private one hour MELT session.
A donation of $250 or more will include a 90 minute massage, and a MELT session, or two MELT sessions- you can choose!
Any amount will be gratefully received! You will be a part of bringing renewed health to many people. And for contributing, I will throw a MELT party, taking all who have helped with ANY size donation through a Hand and Foot class in the fall, date to be determined.
Thanks for helping me help people feel better in their bodies! You can make a difference!
