Amy Vaughan- Lymphoma Support

Donation protected
Amy Vaughan is a loving daughter, sister, mother, and spouse. She prides herself on being the best mother possible to her beautiful 4-year-old daughter. She dedicates herself to her work with youth in special education at the local high school. When Amy lost her grandmother in May, 2015 she began to fall ill. What first seemed like a case of walking pneumonia, soon unveiled a tumor the size of a fist inside her chest.

Amy has been diagnosed with stage 3B Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Her doctors have found the disease to be extremely aggressive and she will be undergoing intensive rounds of full-body chemotherapy. She will not be able to return to work for quite some time. This fund is being set up in hopes to alleviate many of her financial stress due to medical, travel, and living expenses. Amy will have to travel 5 hours round-trip for each chemotherapy treatment and must be admitted 5 days for each treatment. After chemotherapy, she must receive a stem cell transplant at UC Davis. Also, her insurance will only be covering some of the costs of the treatments but not all, including a shot that would help keep her white blood cell count up. This shot is highly important to her recovery and one of the main reasons for this fund.

Family is everything and it is my hope that Amy won’t have to worry about finances and can focus solely on her recovery. Let’s help her get back to being the energetic, loving, mother that she is.
