An accessible vehicle for the Larson family.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this story about this amazing family! I need your help to raise funds to help the Larson family purchase a vehicle to be modified for Sara to ride in comfortably and drive independently from her motorized wheelchair.

In 2004, my friend, Sara, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis - an autoimmune disease that affects the Central Nervous System. This disease has never stopped her from living her life to the fullest and remaining positive, even when her symptoms began to worsen.  However, over the years, Sara's ability to walk has slowly declined to the point that she now depends on a wheelchair full time to get around. She was given a motorized wheelchair by vocational rehab, but has no way to transport it. Therefore, when she goes anywhere, she has to rely on everyone around her to get her in and out of the car and push her around in a manual wheelchair. A modified vehicle will allow Sara to get in and out independently and even drive from her wheelchair.

Vocational Rehabilitation will modify a vehicle for the Larsons, but it must meet certain parameters. The vehicle that they have recommended costs $50,000 before modifications. Insurance will not cover the cost of the vehicle, so I am hoping to help Sara become independent again by raising the funds necessary to purchase the vehicle to be modified. I know that Sara and her family will be extremely grateful for any help you are willing to give towards this lofty goal!
