On November 5, 2022 our daughter's life changed forever due to gun violence in Buffalo New York. Prior to being caught in the cross fire of gun violence at a local skating rink, our 19-year old daughter had a bright future a head of her. Leticia Hargrave-Berry is a loving and outgoing person. She values family and works hard at everything she does knowing her younger siblings are looking up to her. Leticia has had some life experiences that were challenging, but she has never given up and has always kept a smile on her face.
Leticia attended Merritime Charter H.S. where she excelled, graduating in June 2022. Leticia worked at Tops Market while throughout high school and planned on continuing her employment there while beginning the next chapter of her life as a student at Canisius College in August 2022. Leticia majored in Business, aspiring to become a black business owner, giving back to her community.
As a result of gun violence, Leticia has suffered a traumatic brain injury, facial fractures, and paralysis on her left side. Leticia is currently in Medical ICU with no possibility of coming home due to being dependent on a ventilator. Her doctors are recommending that she goes to a facility that provides vent and tracheostomy care. However, Leticia's medical insurance will not cover the cost of the 24-hour nursing care she needs. We don't want to risk our daughter not being able to receive medical attention and we really want to provide the best care possible for what ever she may need and we are asking for your support.
While we are seeking your assistance for our daughter's medical expenses, we would also like to ask that you keep Leticia and our family in your prayers. In advance, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your donations and or words of comfort and prayer, we are truly grateful.
