A Campaign to Help Lisa Ngozi Williams Get A Prosthetic Arm

What happened?

Ms. Lisa Williams’ life changed on February 21, 2018 when a City of Atlanta patrol car ran a red light and hit Ms. Williams while she was driving her car in her West End Atlanta neighborhood. The impact caused her left arm to be ripped off her body, among other injuries.

Ms. Williams is a mother, safety engineer, community servant, children’s storyteller and artist. She was set to start a new job two weeks after the accident and is now homeless due to the cost of her injuries.

What is needed?

·         Prosthetic left arm

·         Housing

·         Physical therapy to learn how to use the arm

“I never thought driving down my street could turn into me losing my arm one day. Now I am financially in distress while still trying to heal. I am praying for help to be able to regain some of my life back. The pain of losing my arm is only one part of my trauma. I didn’t just lose my arm. I also lost my home, my ability to care for myself and my car.  The financial trauma has been attacking my sense of hope but I will not give up. Thank you for all you are able to do.”  ~ Lisa Williams
