Cottage Food Permit Endeavor

I started this gofundme in hopes I’d gather enough funds from my friends, family and community, to obtain a cottage food permit through Nevada County.

Just a little over a week ago, I posted on Nevada County Peeps, offering my sourdough bread, in exchange for financial help from my community. I received lots of love, support and orders. It was a big hit…. so big, that it drew the attention of the county. The Environmental Health Department is requiring me to get a cottage food operation permit if I want to continue to sell my sourdough bread. It makes sense and I absolutely want to hop on the legal train so I can continue to sell my delicious, healthy, organic sourdough bread. My dilemma now is, I don’t have enough money to get the required permit. So, I am coming to you, my community, for help.

I have set a goal of $1500. This would cover the Home business permit ($342.60),

Class B permit from department of environmental health ($500), annual fee of $218.37 for being on a well, and a bit extra to get the well tested by a state approved laboratory.

The last few years has been tough for so many of us. Baking, especially sourdough, is a passion of mine and I refuse to let money stop me from being able to continue baking for my community.
