Help Support Benjamin Through Medical Crisis.

Update for clarity: Beginning in the summer of 2021 after collapsing from pain at an urgent care clinic it was discovered that my body had become overrun with infection. For over a year I was partially bedridden. The infection had eaten away at my body while doctors had tried and failed to knock it out.

In the fall of 2022 I went to the ER (one of many trips) and after they tested my blood a doctor noticed that it was overly "thick." Through more testing and biopsies it was found out that I suffered from a rare blood cancer. They could not identify it. More testing resulted in abnormalities in my bones, blood, and bone marrow.

Treatment began but many debilitating symptoms including severe bone and joint pain continued. More testing has led to the discovery of an autoimmune disease along with the cancer.

Original post: Hello, my name is Benjamin Lyon and I am raising funds to help facilitate and complete my current novel and future projects while navigating an autoimmune and blood cancer diagnosis.

Everyone has burdens and complications. Overcoming them is a part of the stories that make up all of our lives. Obstacles and stakes. No matter how big or small, they are the building blocks of journeys both fictional and real.

Recently my obstacles have lead me to ask for help. I could get into the hairy details of cancer diagnosis, untimely emergencies, and the like, but sometimes unnecessary description distract from the story.

Is this as important of an ask as Luke Skywalker begging Han Solo to help save Princess Leia from the detention block on the Death Star?

Maybe.

Is it cliché to break out a Star Wars reference?

Also, maybe.

I am asking for help. Funds to allow the completion and production of projects and any medical costs that may arise.
