An Invitation to Give

Hey friends, community, near & far. Shellie is a hospice chaplain, wife, mom & friend, who gives so much encouragement & care to all she meets. Lifting others up is what brings her the most joy. This is our chance to lift her heart & her worries. Imagine paying for your monthly bills plus increased medical bills with 60% salary. That’s the “why” & the math for this ask. This is an opportunity & invitation to show community love & care.  

Shellie tested positive for Covid in early February. Being fully vaccinated & boosted, she expected her symptoms to slowly improve like her wife & their 6 kids. However, due to worsening shortness of breath & chest pain Shellie’s journey instead led to urgent care, then to the ER. Follow up with her PCP lead to a diagnosis of “long Covid” with more tests ahead: a pulmonary function test & heart echo. This means time off work & increased medical bills, yes, even with decent health insurance: So we’re asking to ease some worry & focus on healing.

The handwritten cards, words of encouragement, meals, support & prayers are so appreciated — bringing hope that Shellie will soon be back to her fullest self. Adventures await! The best is yet to come! But right now the only way forward — is through it.
