An Irish Christmas for our Ukrainian neighbours

Delgany residents are holding a Festive Flash Fundraiser to ensure that 24 Ukrainian children who recently joined the Delgany community will have presents under the tree this Christmas.

Christmas should be a magical time for children, and this band of merry fundraisers doesn’t want to disappoint their new neighbours. They’re asking the people of Delgany to dig deep and donate what they can to bring Christmas Spirit to the families displaced by the war in Ukraine. These families have left behind their homes, loved ones, pets, possessions and toys, and any donations would be greatly appreciated.

The countdown to Christmas has begun, and urgent donations are needed. The aim is to raise €1,200, which will enable the purchase of a present for each child under 12. If more is raised, gifts can be bought for the entire community of 57 residents (teens, young adults, men and women) who have experienced extreme hardship over the past two years.

The Festive Flash Fundraiser will launch on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023. We urge the people of Delgany to share our posts with school and resident WhatsApp groups and to act immediately by donating any amount, no matter how small, to show the Delgany community's strength in unity.

The Delgany fundraisers plan to shop locally for gifts, contributing to the prosperity of the Greystones and Delgany community.
