An Orting Resident Needs Our Help!

Here we go Orting! Let's help our neighbor!!!
I met a new friend today at Modoo Teryaki while waiting for my food to be cooked. We chatted... He showed me a magic trick... And we talked. My mother in law always said when you see an elderly person sitting alone, let it be a reminder to stop and chat. In doing so, I discovered my new friend Paul. He is an Orting resident... And he has a roof leak (which we now know is a roof replacement). Now I know enough about manual labor to offer my set of hands, but I know nothing about the specifics of roof leak/replacement/repair. And really at this point we are leaning on each other's generosity to help our community member in need! I was taught: a community can be measured by how it treats those within it least off. My new friend is not in good health. And... Well... I thought there might be enough able folks in our great community that we may be able to help out Paul with his roof. I have his number and we've been in contact. A totally cool man with great stories and wisdom. Thanks again to you all who make up this wonderful Orting Community.
Shawn, Todd, and myself all met with Paul last Friday. We got to know Paul better and then after we spoke Shawn and myself sat down to get organized. Very shortly thereafter Rachel a community volunteer on the project stepped up to help in coordinating all parties involved.
From here, we set out to retrieve estimates for the roofing job; and a blessing fell before us... Bruce's Roofing stepped up to the plate and has offered to complete this job at COST! To respect all of our community members who have offered their amazing support, we made sure to vet Bruce's Roofing to ensure they are in good standing with the BBB, and are licensed and bonded for this job. Not to mention they have offered to do the job at cost. We have arranged for disposal of waste and old material. As we show our love for our community and a member in need, I from the bottom of my heart ask all of us to look into our own hearts, and offer whatever support we can towards this great cause! I believe in us Orting!

I know some people have offered their concerns about using GoFundMe because GoFundMe takes a 10% charge. I pledge to make a contribution to this fund after all donations are collected to offset whatever that costs may be...
What does the estimate reveal?
You can all review the link and you will see Paul's roof is in a terrible state. The job all things considered could very well have costed upwards of 11,000 dollars considering it's state of disrepair. However, so very graciously Bruce's Roofing has offered to complete this job at cost considering who it is we are helping and to offer support for this cause! To start we are going to be able to get this job done at a hugely discounted price! The estimated cost will be between $5,500 and $6,500. We have received so many messages, comments, considerations, and offerings of support thus far, and as some incredibly generous community members have already started donating. I, myself today will offer $100.00 to Paul's Roof Replacement. I have spoken with others who I know will also be making contributions shortly. We are a community, one body, and I will close with saying, Thank You All So Very Much for all you do in this great Orting Village! God Bless you all! Let's make this happen :)
