Anaiyah’s Medical Bills and Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Cynthia, but my niece Anaiyah knows me as Tia Cindy.
On Saturday December 3rd around 3am, my beautiful, kind and brave niece Anaiyah (16 years old) was struck on the sidewalk by a car doing donuts in Oakland, CA. She was pinned to a pole and the driver backed out and sped off with no regard to whether she was alive or not. Help didn’t arrive for another 15 minutes, and as of now we have no proof as to who did this.
Anaiyah almost immediately went into an 8+ hour surgery to stabilize her. She suffered 2 broken legs, shattered calf, broken pelvis, broken hip, broken femur, the main artery to her leg severed, amongst other injuries. Anaiyah is resting right now, without pain, until she can have another round of surgery. It will be one of at least two more surgeries to repair everything that happened to her. Her team of doctors are doing everything they can to save the blood flow to her feet.
Our family, my sister/her mother especially, are absolutely devastated. A reckless, heartless person is out there who did this and my sister is left to pick up the pieces as best as a mother can through this.
The funds raised by this will go directly to Anaiyah’s mother, Gabrielle, who is staying nearby while Anaiyah makes it through her next month+ in the hospital in another city, enduring surgeries and recovery. It will support Gabrielle’s cost of living to be there with Anaiyah, replace some of her income, and generally support the long list of medical bills that would devastate any family through this kind of tragedy.
I know these are hard times for everyone, but anything you can do to support financially or by sharing Anaiyah’s story with your family or friends would mean the world to mine.
Anaiyah, her mom and her siblings can use all the love and support they can get. Please drop any messages below for their family to see - it’s in these tough times that we need your kindness most.
We appreciate you so much for reading Anaiyah’s story. And Anaiyah, we love you baby girl. We got you.
