Please help Ana rebuild her home!
Our beloved nanny, Ana, and her family lost everything in Tuesday’s Villa de Clara Vista apartments fire on NE Cully Blvd. The fire started in the unit directly below hers and destroyed all of their possessions. This is a devastating loss for her family.
Thankfully, everyone is safe.
Ana is an incredibly kind, selfless, and resilient person. She has never been one to ask for help, despite overcoming huge adversity in her life, coming to the US from El Salvador, learning English, obtaining her citizenship, and building a life here in Portland.
Her family, which includes her 7 year old daughter, adult niece, and her niece’s 6 year old son, will be sharing a hotel room for the next week while they figure out what to do next.
This fire, as you can imagine, has completely upended their lives. In addition to helping to take care of their immediate needs, the funds will be used to buy new furniture, clothing, school supplies, and other household items to help rebuild a sense of normalcy for the kids.
Please consider helping this amazing family. We’re heartbroken for them, and are hoping that our network of friends, family, and neighbors can help get them back on their feet.
