Anchor of Hope - Supporting Growth Fundraiser
Donation protected
My name is Josh Bone and I am a recovering alcoholic. I spent a decade in active addiction searching for a way out of the monotony my bad decisions led me through. After countless facilities and many half-way houses, I surrendered to a new way of on April, 27th 2017. I finally became willing to take the suggestions I had seen others successfully take. Throughout my struggles, I experienced the difficulties many face when trying to get sober. Changing everything about your life is no small task, but recovery is incredibly worth it. Now with nearly 2 years sober, I have been given the opportunity to share my story with others fighting this battle. I currently work as a health technician and group facilitator with a local treatment facility. I also actively serve and sponsor others in the recovery community and lead a Christian recovery group with my church. God put my life back together in a way I never could have imagined. He is the great architect responsible for the freedom I now enjoy. I am not only a recovering alcoholic, but I am now a husband to a loving and supportive wife. I am a father to 2 beautiful girls that will never see their Daddy drink as long as I continue the good fight.
I have a vision to create a sober living home, anchored in faith and recovery. I want to introduce those still suffering to the way of life I was given. I want to show others there is hope and the grace of God is sufficient for all. "Anchor of Hope" would serve as a pillar of sober living in the Charlotte community. I want to share my passion for Christ and the "road of happy destiny" so others will be saved.
These funds would allow me to secure a home to rent and go towards furnishings. I am also selling Anchor Necklaces to raise money throughout the recovery community, church and with friends/family. In a short time, I have grown a network of positive and encouraging people that know my passion for living and helping others.
Gratitude and acceptance have been the foundation of my recovery. I am grateful each day for the opportunities God gives me and the doors He opens. Walking in God's will for me is all about helping others. He left the 99 to save 1 sinner like me. I want to live my life in a way that allows me to do the same. The stigma of addiction is best understood by those who have lived it. Today I am uniquely qualified to help those looking for a way out. It is my prayer that through this campaign, the reaches of God's impact on my life will continue to grow.
***I will be sending anchor necklaces to everyone who donates.***
