Our beautiful loved ones, Andi and Mark are fighting a battle no couple ever imagines fighting at the same time!
It must have been kismet the day that Andi and Mark met. Instant connection…. then a timeless and everlasting love story began. Following a courtship, showered by love, respect and admiration for one another, Andi and Mark were married. On June 9, 2018, surrounded by family and friends, they vowed to share their lives together, forever, in sickness and in health.
In February 2019, Mark was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Their journey began to learn how to fight this all-consuming disease. Andi worked two jobs while caring for Mark. Through the help of family and friends they managed to float through the unfamiliar water of cancer treatment. After 10 months of tests, chemo, surgery and recovery it was confirmed that Marks cancer was terminal.
Over the next 6 months they worked to keep a positive outlook and cherished each day that they were blessed with. Being together was a gift and they embraced the beauty of the time they were given.
Just as they were accepting the twist that had been presented to them, a new curve ball was thrown at them. In May 2020, Andi wasn’t feeling well and ended up in the emergency room. It was then they learned she had an un-contained mass in her colon. After weeks of tests, it was confirmed that she had Colon Cancer. Her treatment plan was executed immediately due to the nature of her condition, preventing her from working. She underwent surgery to insert a Porto Cath, a tool to help in the infusion of her chemotherapy. She is about to undergo her 5th round of 8 chemo treatments. She will need scans to determine if the chemo is shrinking her tumor. Once chemo has concluded, she will need to have surgery and will face a significant time in recovery.
They have faced this challenge head on together, with courage, strength, faith and love. We want to help them sustain the battle without the worry of the day to day responsibilities and the increased medical expenses.
We are starting a GoFundMe campaign for our Andi and Mark to reduce the financial stress they are facing. Their circumstances have reached a level of urgency. Andi is unable to work, and Mark’s condition is declining rapidly. Mark now needs 24-hour care to help with the simplest of tasks. Together they have countless doctor appointments, tests, and medical expenses. As you can imagine, normal household expenses such as rent, and food can be expensive. Planning for assisted care, funeral expenses and medical bills is a burden not many people are prepared for financially. Andi and Mark’s medical care and costs are astronomical.
The gift of donation literally means everything to them! Donating anything you can will allow them to focus on the care needed for Mark, the recovery needs for Andi and it will give them the opportunity to peacefully embrace Mark’s final journey through their life together. It will provide the support and relief Andi needs to aid during her continued treatment, give support while she is healing and assist in the recovery she must have going forward.
It is with a humble heart that we ask you to share this link with your family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances! We are so appreciative of any amount you can share. It takes a village to support the ones you love, and your love means the world to us! Thank you!!
With Much Appreciation,
Miranda, Paige, Evan & Angie
