Andiamo! Jude's Cerebral Palsy Journey

"Andiamo" means "let's go" in Italian and has become our motivating slogan for all things joyful! Whether it's shouted on the way to get ice cream, or on the way to PT. :)

Jude Jansson was born in a hurry at 31 weeks, on Earth Day, during a pandemic. After a 44-day NICU stay, this lil fighter came home. After some noticeable motor milestone delays, Jude received an MRI and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy (CP) due to periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).

>> PVL is a type of brain injury most common in cases of prematurity that affects the white matter around the fluid-filled ventricles of the brain. Specifically, the area where nerve fibers carry messages from the brain to the body's muscles.

>> CP is a lifelong condition that affects movement and coordination.

Jude will need lifelong therapies to ensure his participation in all of life's adventures. Recently, Jude completed a two-week intensive physical therapy program that increased his mobility, ability to transition (laying to sitting, standing to sitting, chair to walker, etc), and overall independence and confidence. The results were incredible!!

Unfortunately, even though the benefits are life-changing, intensive therapy programs are NOT covered by insurance. We aim to support Jude's development in ALL ways possible and believe that our family and friends wish so too.

Donations will be accepted with heartfelt gratitude and used solely to support Jude's upcoming intensive therapies.
