Andover Carnival (Sunday 16th July 2023)

I am part of the Fund Raising Team for the Andover Carnival which is to be held on Sunday 16th July 2023. The Andover Carnival is Andover’s biggest party which has been going for many many years. I’m sure if we haven’t been in it ourselves then we know someone who has participated in the event over the years. It’s a time for families and the community to come together for the day to enjoy quality time and make memories.

The cost to put on the Andover Carnival is approximately £12,000 and its entirely self funded. This cost includes things like arranging road closures, insurances, porta loos, security, the main stage, unfortunately the list is endless. It also involves endless hours of voluntary man hours by a small group of us on the committee. All monies raised this year will go towards two local Andover charities, Me & My Dad Club and Kola’s.

I really do appreciate how tough things are out there at the moment and that’s why the Andover Carnival Committee is passionate that this event goes ahead. It’s a free day out for everyone. The fun starts in the High Street and Vigo Recreation Park at midday, with the full street procession starting at 4pm. Then we have live music on the main stage until 8.30pm.
