Andover YMCA Tornado
Donation protected
Hi my name is Tony, and on Friday the 29th I was the manager on duty over at the Andover Ymca. It’s taken’ about a week to decompress, as the experience was very traumatic yet humbling. As days pass from the recent event that took place, I replay the moments that were meant to be just a regular work shift as it had my past two years. This night was not the same and it meant putting the safety of our members and even those that I have come to build friendships with, in my hands. God is good and was the protecter of all those that were present. I have come to find that what life will look like moving forward is more different that I thought. I felt lucky in a way but overall troubled, because my loss compared to those that had lost everything, were far more in need than me. That’s why this is hard to do. Due to only have liability on my vehicle, I will be replacing it on my own. I am currently a full time student at WSU and supporting myself working at the YMCA. I am asking for any help to raise money to replace damages on my car inquired by the tornado, if repairable. If the fundraiser does manage to exceed what I need, I will be donating it back to the Andover area as I know many people are in need. Anything will help. I look forward to seeing those same familiar faces again and meeting new ones as we wait for our branch to be rebuilt. Love, Tony.
