Andre Attacked, Help Gwen RN!

A Valparaiso nurse that has literally helped thousands of people over the span of her career, now needs our help. She has worked holidays, weekends, nights and double shifts to ensure your friends and family were cared for when they were recovering from illness or injury.  Or God forbid, keep your loved ones comfortable and hold their hands as they were dying.

Gwen is a RN who has always cared for others. Last week she had a  seizure which  caused damage to her brain from lack of oxygen. She hasn't woken up from her seizure and neurologically does not respond to stimulation. Since the seizure,  Gwen needs the assistance of a ventilator because she isn't breathing on her own.The doctors also found a tennis ball sized tumor on her brain that we nicknamed Andre Agassi.  We needed a little humor in a terribly dark time.

Her ICU medical bills are growing very, very quickly.  She recently started a new job and doesn't have insurance.  Just like most of us, Brian, Gwen, and Ben, their 12 year old son,  live paycheck to paycheck. The loss of Gwen's income is financially devastating to their family.  Transportation costs to and from Chicago to visit her, wear and tear on their car, medical bills,  and Brian's time off work to be with Gwen are just a few of the unexpected expenses that have left them with depleted resources.

The family can use donations of cash, cat food and litter, gas cards, oil change gift certificates, restaurant gift certificates while they travel, grocery store gift cards....Anything will be deeply appreciated. The family of Brian, Gwen and Ben are deeply grateful for any prayers you provide as well.
