Ever since I was a young boy, I've focused on being the best person I can be. From the classroom, to sports, to being a good person, I've always strived to achieve as much as I could, and learn as much as I can.
From maintaining a 4.25 GPA throughout highschool thus far, being class president for the past 3 years, placing 15th at the California state cross country meet as a Sophomore, being an active member in both jazz and concert band, and also producing my own piano CD last year, I'm always looking for ways to broaden my horizons, and experience new things that will shape me into a better person. Now, I've been given a very big opportunity- To attend a private highschool called Sonoma Academy. Their goal is to nuture students to be creative, ethical, and committed to learning by providing inspiring teachers, and engage students with the surrounding community. They prepare students to becoming leaders in the world.
This highschool is perfect for me to further my studies, and learn more than I could at my current highschool. The school offers many more AP classes than my current highschool, especially in the math department, and also offers AP Writing and English classes, my favorite subjects.
Just this last Friday, I was accepted into Sonoma Academy for the 2017-2018 school year. I'm super excited to attend, and looking forward to this new chapter in my life. However, like all great things, there comes a cost. To attend this school, it will cost my mom and I $13,100, plus book fees, any athletic equipment fees, and intersession fees (Intersession is a two-week block where school is suspended, and students are given the opportunity to study off campus and overseas. Intersessions range from visiting China or France, from backpacking trips and working in music studios).
At $13,100 a year, this comes out to a cost of about $1,310/month for ten months each year.
I truly believe this opportunity will help shape me into a better person, and I appreciate any dollar donation I can get to make this dream become a reality.
