Andrea Butler's Extended Hospital Stay

This is Allison, and I'm setting this up to raise funds for my twin sister Andrea. Andrea has been in the hospital for 11 days without a discharge date in site. Over Christmas, Andrea began to feel very sick to her stomach, including horrible amounts of pain. She suffered through the Christmas holiday in pain, not eating or drinking all the while trying to give her three children a Merry Christmas. Unfortunately as time went on after Christmas, her symptoms worsened, and she went to UPMC Altoona seeking medical attention for the pain and sickness which had already been plaguing her for four days. Andrea has now been hospitalized at UPMC Altoona for 11 days, without answers as to what exactly is causing her pain and sickness. Her labs have continued to show alarming numbers, but her scans have remained inconclusive. UPMC Altoona has exhausted their resources trying to figure out what is happening with Andrea, but as she continues to not heal with their regimen, they decided it was best for her to be treated under a gastrointestinal specialist in Pittsburgh. Andrea is currently awaiting transport to UPMC Shadyside, but it may be a wait to travel due to the winter storm. All Andrea wants is to be free from the pain she is suffering, to be able to eat something, and to return home to her family.

Andrea has a large and loving family with three kids and her boyfriend who all want her to return home very soon. It is especially hard for her to try and help keep her family afloat financially without being able to work for the past two weeks, with no ending in sight. Andrea recently started a new position, and with no paid time off saved up, she is unable to help her boyfriend support her family during this time in the hospital. 2 incomes sudddenly turned into one as Andrea continues to be hospitalized, and they are struggling to find ways to make ends meet without her income.

Andrea needs to put her time and focus into healing and feeling better, not worrying about how to pay her household bills. Anything helps, as she needs support during this trying time.
