Be a Part of Andrea & Mud’s New Album

Hi friends. It’s your favorite sleazeballs here to say… WE’VE GOT A NEW ALBUM TO PUT OUT! We’ve been working on these new songs for you for years and they’re finally ready to be released into the world. Unfortunately though, the world isn’t a very nurturing place for indie bands so we are asking you for your help. The cost of vinyl is extremely high, the amount of money that you have to put into an album to get it heard is quite shocking, and unless a band has [a lot of] money to fund a release, it will just sit there looking shiny and pretty but also very under appreciated. We wish that things were different and places like Spotify paid us all what we deserve, but until that happens, we have to look to our fans for that extra boost to ensure our art is successful.

Our newest collection of songs, Institutionalized, is definitely our favorite yet. Even more horns, soulful backup vocals, and a major theme that everyone can understand: Mental Health. We all deal with some form of mental health every single day. Whether it’s our own or someone’s that we love dearly, we can all commiserate together, clad in rhinestones and a dreamy blue disposition, in a world where no one is perfect. No one is doing completely fine all the time; but that is OK.

Andrea & Mud deal with common mental health issues by talking about it, or singing about it rather, in their songs that once again, cannot fit in one genre. We hope that our take on things like depression, addiction, and more common issues will get a conversation started that we all desperately need. It’s ok to talk about it and maybe hearing how everyone else is feeling will help more people feel like they’re not alone. Some people deal with their illness by staying at home, not being able to get out of bed, paying a lot (without universal healthcare!) to a therapist, and taking pricey big pharma medications. But Andrea & Mud would rather write a song about it and slather it in fringe, rhinestones and tremolo to better understand this demon within all of us.

Contributing to this project that is so dear to us, will not only help us get our new music into the world, but also help get this type of medicine in the hands of the needy. Wrap yourselves up in our shared misery and let’s dance our problems away. At least for an hour or so, while we remember the beauty in the world.

If you are doing extremely well in this rat race we call the American Dream and want to contribute $1000 or more, we’ll come and throw a party and play your favorite songs, with our whole band of course, for up to 3 hours. Obviously location is a factor, but if we can make it work, let’s party!

We pour our hearts out to you in every song we ever record so why not do the same here? We want to be completely honest with you at all times and this time friends, we need help.
