❤️ Andrea needs her tribe! ❤️

Andrea has been quietly facing an excruciating journey over the past year. After a series of tests and procedures, yesterday she found out that her surgery was going to be moved up a whole month...to tomorrow morning. Things are moving at lightening speed all of a sudden. If you’ve been a part of Andee’s life, you know that humour is her go to. She is of course, in true Andrea style making jokes left and right, but is also understandably terrified of the coming weeks, months, and years.  Here are a few details about what she and her family are facing.

Andrea has a rare and aggressive brain tumour called a facial nerve Schwannoma. It is growing from the lining of her facial nerves in the temporal lobe. First, she will undergo a craniotomy with the hopes of saving a small amount of her hearing. They report that there is no hope of saving her facial nerves. The fear is that she will have no movement of the left side of her face.  They will take a nerve graft in hopes of resecting some of the nerves. She will face multiple plastic surgeries on her face, including on her eyelid to help it close and surgeries around her mouth to allow her to eat. If any movement returns, it may take 3 or more years. She is looking at therapies, acupuncture, monthly supplements of $300+, and a restricted diet.  She’s very concerned she might not be able to return to the service or beauty industry. You can imagine the stress. 

Needless to say, she has a very tough road ahead, both emotionally and physically. 

Thankfully she has US, her TRIBE. We won’t let her face this alone, emotionally, physically, or financially. Dig deep folks! The hope is that her inability to work in the near future will be countered by a true show of compassion and giving so that she can relax and recover, without worrying also about paying bills.
