For over a decade, Andrea (Vono) Silver was a nurse at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse NY. She was the kind of nurse that you'd want by your side if you were sick. She was compassionate, gentle, genuine, and could always make you smile, no matter how awful you felt.
On September 12th, 2016, Andrea lost her three year battle with Cancer. In her honor, we have created the Andrea Vono Silver Memorial Scholarship Fund. Contributions will be used to create an endowment fund through the Crouse Health Foundation.
The Andrea Vono Silver Scholarship Fund will award an annual scholarship in Andrea’s name to a student at her alma mater, the Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital. Since nursing was one one of the many joys of her life, and we want to offer future nurses the same opportunity without financial burden.
This Scholarship will be permanent, once we reach the $10,000 goal. Our goal is to reach this by or before 2020, through this GoFundMe campaign, and the Volleying For Andrea Volleyball Tournament. The 2018 event will be held on Saturday, June 23rd.
