Andrea Ficocello's Cancer Fund

Andrea, was diagnosed with  Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage IIIC Breast Cancer on 5/30/2018. Her care at Florida Cancer Specialists has begun with chemotherapy. Andrea will receive 33 treatments over a 14 month period.  Half way through her chemotherapy she will have her initial surgery, which will then be folllowed by radiation for 4 to 6 weeks (that’s 5 days a week). Once she has completed her chemotherapy and radiation, Andrea will then be able to begin long process of reconstructive surgery an ongoing therapy and care.   

 This is going to be a long road… a fight that will not end for quite some time.  The words “fight like a girl” and “never give up” ring so true now. Andrea, like so many others, has to try and stay positive and stay healthy. All while getting poked, pinched and having toxic medication pumped into her that causes hair loss, skin damage, nausea, loss of appetite, blurred vison, chronic fatigue, and many other issues. 

 This GoFundMe page is for Andrea to help her with her medical expenses.  Although she has a great job, a family that loves her, and many friends who are by her side – the financial obligations and costs have become substantial in a short amount of time. It is overwhelming to think that with all the other things she needs to deal with, that she also has to face the financial struggles on how she is going to afford her prescriptions, copays, and coinsurance.  Andrea has been able to continue to work and is doing everything she can to stay on top of these additional medical expenses, but I know that she has depleted her savings to meet her deductible and is struggling to make her copayments and cover her portion of services.   I hate that she has to stress so much about these details and would hope to find her some support so that she can focus on her health and not every bill that turns up in the mail.
