Andreas Wiebe & Family

Hi, my name is Anita Durksen and I started this fundraiser to support my sister, Maria, and brother-in-law, Andreas, and their four beautiful children.

On Sunday, June 26th, 2022, Andreas was rushed to the hospital. One minute he had been fine, the next he collapsed from dizziness and an excruciating headache. He had a significant brain bleed, caused by an arteriovenous malformation. He was rushed into surgery to relieve the pressure. The surgeon said it went well and they were able to clean up the bleed and fix the problem. Due to the significant pressure he had on his brain, we have no idea what damage was done, what recovery will look like.

With so much uncertainty in the days and weeks, and possibly even months ahead, there will be a time during which neither Maria or obviously Andreas will be able to work and generate income, and yet life expenses continue. Additionally, although we live in Canada and benefit from free medical care, there are costs associated with daily hospital visits and other aspects of the road to recovery.
