Andre's Hope: Recovering from Fire and Illness

Hello, my name is Whangi Berrian, I am Andre Berrian’s sister.

It is with mixed emotions that I am writing today. In part with sheer gratefulness. In part, with elation that my brother’s life was spared and I was able to hear his voice today. When he spoke to me he said, “Whatever does not kill you will make you stronger”. The other part of me has a heavy heart .

I am immensely grateful that you have given a moment of your time to read my story.

My brother experienced an unforeseen devastating loss of his home ravaged by a fire. He suffered a complete loss of everything either burned in the fire or from smoke and water damage.

In addition to experiencing this devastating loss, he is currently going through cancer treatments for the 2nd time in his life.

The words that he spoke to me, “Whatever does not kill you will make you stronger” reminded me of just how tenacious, determined and positive-minded his approach is when facing and taking on challenges.

Please, with humility and graciousness, I am asking for and seeking help, and/or support to help my brother on his journey from tragedy to triumph.

Any money donated will be used to secure interim housing, purchase medication, new clothing, replacing items that were

unsalvageable and eventually new furniture.
