Andres Sabio Road To Recovery
Donation protected
Last week Andres was recovering from a stomach virus and he took a beach trip for Mother's day on Sunday (figuring he would feel better being out of the house). He seemed to have contracted a strain of Strep A that over the course of 3 days that would spread to his bloodstream and attack his major organs. He was airlifted to Dr. Phillips Orlando Health where he was placed in the care of intensive care in an induced coma. For the last week, he has been slowly progressing with a full scope team of specialists who saved his life.
He just had a feeding tube placed through his nose to eat because his throat muscles are too sore from being intubated.
His kidney function is not where the doctors would like to see it, so he just completed a round of dialysis.
Andres has a long road to recovery and will be out of work for an extensive period so any amount is very much appreciated!
Andres, his wife Juliette, and their 2 beautiful children thank you in advance.
Update from Juliette-
We are slowly getting our voice back and although we're not at full sentences yet, we are able to make out more words. Physical therapy is coming by a few times a day and next week we'll have a better idea of a discharge date. They will be transferring him to an inpatient facility for 1-2 weeks to work on function. Still keeping a close eye on organ function. We are not quite where they want him to be but they explained it can take 4-6 weeks. Working on getting the feeding tube removed next You guys have kept my spirits up during this storm and I can't thank God enough for having you all in our lives ❤️
