Young Military family devastated by suicide

Heartbreaking situationdue to a sudden tragic family loss a young 12-year-old daughter must now grow up without her father and 3 stepdaughters will forever be without a father figure they forever made memories with.  We never know the way our peers are struggling, especially veterans.  Andrew Hatcher took his own life at his home in Spring Grove PA September 12, 2021, not long after announcing he completed level 7 of celebrate recovery and was starting a job in Washington DC as Diplomatic Security Guard.  He spent 13 years in the Army in the 19th congressional district D3 Cavalry Scout.

He was hard working, caring, and always had a smile that was so gentle; he touched the lives of many and was a comical person full of funny jokes and fun times.  To lose him in such a way is an absolute shock and tragedy that will haunt us all forever.  The life we were all building together has been stolen from us

Through this page we not only want to support and cover funeral cost but bring light to the suicide epidemic.  Such a permanent decision often made because of a temporary problem has lifelong devastating outcomes that ripples across our society. The pain of the daily impact of Andy’s loss is so real, and the agony dealing with the reality of him being gone, the countless unanswered questions, and the acceptance that our lives will be lived without Andy forever, is something our family will feel forever.

We would so appreciate if you could share this page with the hope that Andy’s story is met with compassion, understanding and abundant of generosity.  We would also like to draw light to the issue of suicide and hope that this page reaches someone who may be feeling like there is no hope and we would like to let you know that there is.  Suicide is a permanent solution to an often-temporary problem and your life has so much value and purpose so we encourage you to speak to someone who can help you navigate your journey.

There is hope…. We promise.

Please help us raise money in order to have the funeral he deserves.
